Chief Mike Brady has served as Missoula's Police Chief since December 2013.  He had been Assistant Chief for over 5 years prior to that appointment.  Chief Brady has been with the Missoula Police Department since 1988 holding numerous positions within the department over those 28 years.  His career started in the Patrol Division moving through Detectives prior to his promotion to sergeant when he was a sergeant in the Plans Unit, Detective and Patrol.  He was also a lieutenant in the Detective Division.  He is a past Field Training Officer and member of the Tactical Hostage Negotiation team.

Chief Brady is a past board member of Missoula Big Brothers Big Sisters program and a graduate of Leadership Montana 2015.  He is currently a member of the Executive Board of the Montana Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run.

Mike was born and raised in Great Falls, Montana and attended the University of Montana, graduating in 1983.  Mike was employed as a Deputy Sheriff for Mineral County and Missoula County prior to joining the Missoula Police Department.
