Welcome to the Recreation Division!
The Recreation Staff believes that investing in our citizens, kids and families is an investment in our future—and the Parks and Recreation staff is excited about where Missoula's going. One of the most positive things about living and working in Missoula is the fact that quality of life is a coveted community investment; citizens love their parks and open spaces and the abundant recreational opportunities available. The business community here thrives because of a healthier, happier work force. Businesses are attracted to Missoula because this community gets is: A livable city benefits everyone. The fabric that weaves the tapestry of Missoula has threads of social, cultural and economic diversity, community pride, working partnerships and networks, quality recreation programs and beautiful parks, a well maintained non-motorized trail system and numerous community celebrations that all make Missoula a wonderful place to live.
Since 2005 Missoula has been recognized as one of the 100 Best Communities for Young People. In 2009 we have just been honored as a Playful City USA, becoming a national role model, leading the way for play and growing the next generation of healthy and productive adults.
We look forward to seeing you out enjoying the trails, parks and our programs. Recreation staff members are passionate about their programs; Ryan Yearous, Sports and Wellness; Meg Whicher, Outdoor Recreation; and Eric Seagrave, Aquatics are eager to share information about programs and our facilities.
