CPDI would like to acknowledge the untimely passing of Mayor John Engen. Mayor Engen devoted his life to public service as the longest-serving Mayor in our city's history. His visionary leadership and sense of humor guided the City of Missoula for almost 17 years. His tireless work for and in the Missoula community can be seen and felt wherever we look. We will miss him.

Weigh in on the City's Annual U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) Action Plan

Each year, the City of Missoula receives funding from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) programs.
CDBG and HOME funds must benefit Missoula’s low- and moderate-income residents and leverage resources to:

  • Improve the supply of affordable housing,
  • Assist with public improvements, and
  • Fund eligible public services.
CPDI staff has updated the Program Year 2022 Annual Action Plan to include activities it will undertake with Community Development Block Grant funds for Public Facilities and Infrastructure and with Home Investment Partnership Program funds for Affordable Housing. As a requirement of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for this funding, Community Development must publish these changes for a 30-day comment period.

You can view the report here.

Comments are welcomed and encouraged, and all comments submitted by August 23, 2022, will be included in the final version of the plan submitted to HUD. Please submit comments at the HUD Action Plan Engage Missoula Website.
