Missoula Mercantile

The City Council is considering an appeal concerning the Missoula Mercantile located at 110 North Higgins Avenue in downtown Missoula.  On June 2, 2016, the City's Historic Preservation Commission voted to deny a Demolition Historic Preservation Permit to deconstruct the Mercantile building which is on the National Register of Historic Places.

110 N. Higgins Missoula Owners, LLC (the property owner) and HomeBase Montana (the developer and owner's agent) have appealed that decision to the Missoula City Council.

Project Timeline

  • June 26 and July 11, 2016 -  City Council Public Hearing
  • July 13, 2016 and later (tentative) - City Council Land Use and Planning Committee (LUP) Meetings/Deliberations
